Ehhhh. I for once, and I can't believe it, understand and SOMEWHAT agree what Jack Murdock is saying.

Although, I also disagree in some aspects. "Dang_Nabbit" below me has a very good point that without American and the West, we probably wouldn't have terrorists as we know them today.

But, Australia owes it's existence to "Empire-Building Invaders," so chill the fuck out down there.

And, Copyright wouldn't be a problem if Western Society didn't exist.

So, lets deal with the fact that the Cold War created Al-Qaeda in the 80s, and both the United States AND Russia are in fact responsible. But lets not forget we DID fucking save all your asses in World War II. Don't give me that bullshit that "We could've won!" because you fucking couldn't have. That being said, Jack has a valid point in that both countries have valid interests in attacking terrorist organizations across the globe. I don't think that's exactly what we're talking about here, as the main deal is the extortion of Australia by the United States government pressing for the 3-Strikes deal along with AFACT and a now upcoming mandatory censorship law, "the great barrier reef," etc. etc. I admit, the United States government is pretty much a big douchebag when it comes to that.

That being said, we're talking about Copyright and Reserved Rights, not Afghanistan, Terrorists, etc.

To "Australian":

Yes, we do live in a Democracy, but it's not that simple.

First of all, you have to take in the way the Senate is run:

A United States Senator is elected for periods of six years. This allows them to serve in at at least two terms of a presidency. This means that the person being elected, if the general election say, elects Barack Obama like they did almost four years ago, the Senate might still have a Republican Majority. It didn't in this case, but this first rules out the balance of Government.

Next we take the House of Representatives:

The House of Representatives is so wacky it's not even funny. Basically, every other year/even numbered years. This counters the actions of the Senate, which in turn, block the House of Representatives in a period of time like this, in which not many bills are able to be compromised. Instead, we've gotten ourselves into a situation where there is NO compromise.

So, now we have a disagreeing Congress. Nothing get passed, especially now, except in absolute necessity, such as the Debt Extension Plan which we just passed. If I were a Senator or Representative, I would probably be voting yes on anything to get a god damn agreement by this point. Not exactly a good point, but this is why I'm not a politician.

So, here we have a Senate and House that can't pass anything, not even what the President wants. So, unless everybody agrees on everything, nothing gets done. It's about as useful as the Articles of Confederation at this point.

Now we bring up the Judicial Branch. Once a Supreme Justice, always a supreme justice. Or, as Wikipedia puts it, Justices are "tenured" for life, given they have good behavior.

Now lets try something:

Let's say the newly elected Democratic President John G. Dickface wants to pass a bill legalizing Marijuana. He writes the bill, it goes through a committee to a Republican led House of Representatives, which has a Republican led Federal Food and Drug Administration Committee. They decide, like most conservative Republicans would, we don't like this bill. So, they decide they aren't going to legalize Marijuana. Instead, this Committee decides that the might legalize K-2, the similar drug (I know it's already legal in some places, but just go with it).

So, now we have a much weaker than President Dickface wanted. But, it passed the Committee, so it goes onto the House, which doesn't like it, but none-the-less, they deem it acceptable, and the Democrats are able to swing a few votes.

NOW, because of the 6 year term in which the Senate is largely Democratic, they complain, because they think it's everybody's right to get high on whatever drug. So, they send it back to a Committee to change it in their favor. This continues for the next couple years, until the House is back in Democratic hands, and the Committee is more influentially Democratic, so they finally pass the bill WITH legalization of Marijuana.

And so, the President signs the bill, and everything is happy.

But wait! A couple presidents ago, we had a bat-shit crazy Conservative Tea-Party-er named Michael Bachwoman as president! She, during her 8 year two term presidency, had to replace John Roberts, because he fell ill to say, cancer, and had to resign. The other people? They're getting pretty old. I think the oldest at the MOMENT is 78 years old. So, during Bachwomans presidency, she "stacks" the court with Republican Judges, because she had a full republican house and senate when she started her presidency.

Oh no! The Supreme Justices have deemed the newly passed Bill on the Legalization of Marijuana unconstitutional! Why, I'm not sure, but they did! In fact, they completely kill the bill.

Now, six years later, and an unsuccessful attempt at passing a bill... we have gotten completely nowhere. So, what now? Oh, President Dickface, with his newly backed, completely fucked-up and unconstitutional Czars, decides to go start taking down websites that advocate the banning of Marijuana permanently. Why? Because he fucking can. But, because the court nor legislative branch have any jurisdiction in the Constitution itself over the Czars, they really can't do anything. The Czars are responsibly.

So, now we have an out of control president, a bi-polar congress, and a stacked court. All because "democracy" built it that way.

It MAY have worked like that in the 1920s, or even in the 1800s, but it doesn't now. There needs to be governmental reform that gives the people more power.

Make a general assemble of the people via the Internet. The Internet is Gods greatest blessing to us all, really. I can communicate with someone 3000 miles away in a matter of seconds. It's amazing. So why can't we all show our opinion via the internet?

Ohhhh, that's right, because DEMOCRACY doesn't believe in Freedom of Speech, such as WikiLeaks now-a-days. Remember, it's DEMOCRACY that brought us this!

As George W. Bush once said:

"Freedom should have limits!" (you should to the Texas accent with it too. It makes it even funnier!)

(Also, while I realize that there may be a few errors in specifics in the committees, order of operations in the government, the basis is generally the same, and don't get specific with me. There are not real HUGE problems with this)
