Did they really though thats the point.. Its their word they pre-empted from spying.. I think govs are good at using media/propaganda to use it as proof that the spying laws really work.. its not like they followed and arrest just as they about to nab someone.. they raided houses after collecting evidence from taps and web :)

I think usa tried to spin that tale too.. saying they prevented 30 odd terror attacks with the NSA spying (illegal).. but then boston happened and
they didnt stop or have a clue who did it.. and spent ages looking through all publics film and street cams

NZ is same.. they claim spying is needed to prevent terror… of course.. Keys now sending troops to help USA makes NZ a target for upset muslim attacks
so one justification for another

(but real terrorists wouldnt use media+web to communicate.. not without vpns and other methods now would they? even then thats risky.. dont know if PCs and vpns have been hacked and implanted spy soft :))

They stopped a single beheading plot. Impressive. They must really care about their citizens to invest all this money and effort to prevent terrorism like this. I’m sure that’s all this is about.

I don’t think they’re sex mad, they’re probably just abused to the point where they can’t think clearly and become desperate. Then the abusers point at them and yell “look, what a madman!!”
