btguard does not work any more since almost all trackers banned it due to IP Spoofing or other problems, and has not worked properly for quite some time now.

They also don't respond to emails for assistance.

Complaints have been lodged with Paypal for false and deceptive advertising of a non-working service.

I just started using BTGuard a few days ago. It's been working really well up until new year's eve. Today is the 3rd and that shyte is still down man! I ping them and it's forever "Request Timed Out". I'm paying $7 for nothing. I emailed them twice but nay on the response. WTF!

They target PRIVATE trackers.

It is because, paying for torrenting is REALpiracy. Free torrenting, is not, according to the Telecommunications Act of 1996…

No, you’re being cautious. BTW, BTGuard is on the Bluetack/Peer Guardian blocklists. So, for those using this “service”, you’re not going to connect to anyone that filters IP’s.

Is anybody else concerned by the following?

1) there is very little info about them on the web

2) nothing pre-dates March 2008

3) certain discussion groups contain hints of possible “honey trap”

Am I just being more paranoid than normal?
