we didnt get site blocking here in aus, it was seen for the bad idea it was.as for whats really going on here of course this is only the first step, the foot in the door for their grand plans.

once they control all content coming into aus they can then stop having to pay so much money for things like GoT and just run new seasons of big brother or something equally as tiresom because what choice will we have here? its either swallow their shit programming or actually go outside or read a book and no one wants to do that.

The FCC needs to grow a pair, stand up to Comcast, Verizon, et al and classify ISPs as common carriers, aka dumb pipes that carry any and all data to & from customer’s homes. ISPs should not be held liable for offense committed by their customers any more than Ma Bell should be held responsible if one of her customers uses the phone to commit a crime.

Once the FCC declares ISPs simple dumb pipes, it’ll be so in Australia as well, after all US laws must be enforced world wide (you don’t want to be unamerican and claim some other country knows better do you? After all, we invented and own the internet, we know what’s best for it)…

And, killing two birds with one stone, along with shutting MAFIAA up about holding ISPs liable, it’ll also solve the whole “slow lane” ISPs are hoping to establish…

=road builders responsible for speeders
=phone companies resposible for cold callers etc
= power companies resposible for people getting electrocuted
=oil companies resposible for global warming

Why should an isp a third party be responsible for someone else s property, if it was sooo valuable theyd have better protection, but they don’t in fact alot of them avoid it for some strange reason.. and piracy also creates jobs, soo i don’t see how we could be loosing jobs either….
