Because I got carried away with the subject. :-)

If you hadn't noticed, my work has an average length 50% greater than either enigmax or Ernesto's. work. In fact, what you see is often half the article (the other half cut for TL;DR)

The topic was on topic, but there wasn't full information available. As such while it was important to get it out there, we kept in mind the limited information.

We also are attempting to expand our coverage into more actions in more countries than the English-speaking world and mainland Europe, while still keeping up our usual level of coverage on our more usual, 'core' topics.

In fact it's been a hell week for me, and our research staff. This week so far I've done pieces with sources in Russian, Finnish, Norwegian, and Spanish.

We will almost certainly be revisiting the topic again soon, with a more in-depth piece when we have more information (perhaps next weekend, when I've got the courage to tackle Colombian government websites again - that's a LOT of spanish!) which would be a full article.

Think of it like a newspaper. Their front page has stories that will appeal and be of relevance to most of their readership. Other stories may only have a limited appeal or be relevant to a smaller percentage of the readership, that would be the Page 2/3 stories (or below the fold, if you prefer broadsheets over tabloids) and that's the job of 'bits'. It's still stuff we want to cover and feel it important we should, but which only has a limited interest, or which doesn't have much in the way of substantial facts available.

And so I hope that answers your question somewhat, and I also think that this answer shows my longwindedness (and why it's a 'full' length piece in bits) I can waffle for England.

definitely dont count on the UK. it has turned out to be worse than the USA as far as bending over to take a good shafting from the entertainment industries. the people are put right at the bottom of the pile. the coalition government are doing everything they can think of to fuck up the ordinary people while keeping the 'old school tie' brigade as well off as possible! trouble is, the damage done in 5 years takes 25 years to put right let alone improve!
