"Has the incompetence and abuse of process demonstrated by ACS:Law and MediaCAT ruined the chances of other companies looking to do the same, or will the whole thing be easily revisited upon the introduction of the UK’s Digital Economy Act?"

Unless the evil Tories get a healthy dose of common sense and manage to see through the lies and deceit of the industry claims that huge financial losses are being incurred, I'm afraid to say the whole sorry affair will likely be repeated - and possibly more viciously too, with all sorts of crazy sanctions and penalties as well as site-blocking.

It's absolutely crazy, so PLEASE write to your MP now, and to the Department for Culture, Media & Sport BEFORE the Digital e-RipOff Act is passed into law.
Either for the attention of CMS Minister Ed Vaizey at
http://www.culture.gov.uk/contact_us/default.aspx
Or to the Secretary of State Dr Vince Cable at the Dept of Business, Innovation &Skills
http://www.bis.gov.uk/contact/ministers-business

Simply ask them to see through the false figure of the media industries and to scrap sections 3 to 18 of the DEA as well as undertake a major reform of copyright law that doesn't pander to the narrow-minded interests of a small group of people to the detriment of the majority of people in our new technological age of the internet and our freedom to share knowledge for no cash, no profit and no gain.

Add anything else that's helpful too, but please keep it polite or you'll be binned and ignored.
