Of course, every studio wants a 1000% ROI but it’s never going to happen. However, they project each film to make a certain amount or ROI and as much as each studio thinks they have projected the right numbers, they can be way off too.

So, now, instead of admitting a movie tanked or failed to get a decent ROI, studios say piracy is to blame. Nevermind if the movie was bad to begin with or just poorly marketed or released at a bad time, it’s come down to blaming filesharing for cutting into profits and, therefore, hampering future films because the ROI doesn’t give them enough $$$ to make more “quality” films.

I guess fiction and great storytelling isn’t completely dead in Hollywood these days.
