Better, join a party, and hijack it. Volunteer for a committee, and argue your pet issue into official policy. That’s what the Tea Party did, with quite the success.*

In Canada, for example, there are three major parties. One of them, the Liberals, are on the down-and-out; nobody really cares for them. They also lost a lot of members to the NDP, which makes them perfect targets for an intervention. The NDP are better principled, but a much harder sell.

Remember: if a tree falls and nobody’s around, nobody knows. Get out there, and fall on somebody.
