No one had a problem with cassette players taping any song whatsoever off the radio or a friends LP…and this was when bands like the Beatles were still releasing. Maybe if the current artists, arguably none of whom will ever be in the Fab Four’s class, put more than one or two barely palatable songs on over priced CD’s, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.

I can tell you that many artists have received money from me after I discovered them on Grooveshark – bands I would have never heard of otherwise. But after finding them and liking them I bought their albums and went to their concerts.

The artists and services like Grooveshark should work together so my money doesn’t go to cocaine and hookers for record company execs. This is a new era of music distribution – stop fighting it people, and work with it.
