The law is written specifically to try and avoid ‘feelings’ and ‘victim-centric experiences’ precisely because there’s no perspective.

The problem is that the various AAs have long since met a big success in the war on words. They impose their words, which in turns brings court fights on their grounds as these words are used to describe their opponents, including in courts. It’s going to be a difficult uphill battle to fix the semantics. There have been several posts on the net, including on this present website, to remind us to use words that are more neutral or even more in the favor of file-sharers. Those who doubt the usefulness of such discipline are remind here of its importance.

And keeping to the law, no need for “awkward phrases and euphemisms”. It’s copyright infringement, period.
