“Julian, when you made X-Factor, you basically ripped off the source code from the Poisoned Project and ignored/violated the GPL by not crediting the original authors.

Initially with bitrocket, all you had to do was attribute and acknowledge Transmission, and you didn’t even manage that until forced.
So again, we found you taking other peoples code and not crediting them.

What made you change your mind with this libtorrent version?”

The entertainment industry would implode. It’s ironic though, for as Julian notes, if you buy a defective or poor product you normally get a refund, yet Hollywod is not bound by such moral “ambiguities.”

I totally agree. BitTorrent saved me $19.95 on Click, otherwise it would have ended up as a dusty dvd that would never again see the light of day. If I can return a book to barnes and noble i should be able to return a DVD that sucked just as bad.

The people in Hollywood know that many of the movies they’re currently releasing AREN’T worth paying money for (Click, anyone?). That’s the thing about movies. You can’t return them just because you don’t like them and you can’t return a ticket. It’s one of the only huge industries (along with video games) where you can be a completely unsatisfied customer and no one is responsible (except you of course). They know that once they get your money, that’s it. They’ve got your money, no matter how bad the movie is. Obviously the ability to watch a movie without paying for it FIRST is upsetting their business model.
