Last year in the uk the media only had two stories which we repeated for a year the diamond jubilee and the olympics until you were sick of it.

For me this was the worst violation of the olympics.

Isn’t it funny how media companies never got any criminal charges brought against them for hacking torrent sites because they want to get back at them for providing a platform to share?

Whilst groups and individuals working for internet freedom are arrested for hacking these very same companies.

I would download a crappy Tyler Perry movie before anything related to the olympics.

I pay for satellite and could watch it in HD as part of my subscription, but I simply don’t care.

I’m certainly not going to waste bandwidth and/or storage space to download people I have never heard of participating in obscure sports that very few care about.

Even the “highlight” events are fringe sports that very, very few people have ever tried in their lifetime.

While I do like the spirit of the games, it has, like most things these days, become too corporate. I refuse to watch out of spite at this point, but understand that I am actually contributing by paying satellite subscription fees.

It may be time to cancel television altogether and download/stream everything. Unfortunately, we still have to see ads while streaming something live.
