Wait, the ISP’s are offering enormous GB worth of downloading (with the government’s blessing and approval) but no one wants to be held responsible for people downloading things?

It’s like the government giving everyone a weapon and expecting no one to use them or crime rates to stay the same… simply absurd.

The whole model for the ISP,Piracy, MPLC,MPAA,etc is wrong, the solution should be a one size fits all model, so that the end user pays the ISP for there broadband and the ISP shares the takings from the end user as royalty payments with the respective recipients. This will mean that all internet users pay for the creation of material. This way everybody benefits. Otherwise another site or proxy will just pop up again and again.. It is clear to me that the advisor to the PM is not looking at the problem and trying to put a plaster on a wound that needs stitches….

Incidentally, Mark Steele, the only reason there is pressure on the industry to make content available AND affordable is *because of sites like Pirate Bay*. You eliminate that, and do you really think the industry will keep prices low? Capitalism tends towards monopoly, this is being expressed in the copyright battle rather directly.
