That tentative change in regulations is only a logical step on the way of “going too far” that the copyright industries aim for. And we, both us as citizens and our governments, have allowed way too much already. Since these industries are control-freaks, they will never ever be satisfied. The more they are allowed, the more they want. And that’s not the problem: everyone is allowed to make a wishlist to Santa. The problem is when “Santa” (here our lawmakers) grant them all their wishes, time and again. That has to stop. Scratch that: we have to go back to a more reasonable balance between their rights and ours.

Explain things to your friends and family. Explain things to your representatives. No need to aim for a grand revelation for the whole public when you don’t have that reach. Each of us just has to teach those people he can.

After all, the copyright industry is only strong against people who blindly drink their lies and biased “facts”, whether because they are indifferent or uneducated to the interests at play.
