Have they, really?

The main part of anime/manga downloaders are fans and afficionados. Those people already pay as much as they can. There is no lost sale to be found in that group.

And the rest of those downloaders don’t really give a rat’s ass about manga or anime and if they couldn’t download it for shitz’n’giggles they’d simply find some other free easily accessible entertainment.

In other words, the lost sale doesn’t exist.

If the japanese government believes it does it simply means they got rolled by the lobbying efforts of Sony et al.

In China if the japanese invaded your trouble would start once they decided to decimate your city for being non-japanese.

The real clincher why the anti-japanese sentiment in China gets no grief from me is that japan as a whole still has trouble fessing up to what they did. When I attended a german school at age 9, we were already taught the horrors of WW2 and the german part in it – including the concentration camp.

Germans have grown up with collective guilt ever since. Japan wouldn’t even admit what they had done until a few years ago. To the point that a lot of japanese won’t even believe it when their government publishes the real story.

Small wonder Koreans and Chinese look at Japan the way they do.

With regards to Funimation, as I said in another comment, they cut things like bath scenes, whatever else the find disagreeable.

I refuse to pay money (to anybody) to watch or play something that’s been butchered by a bunch of self-appointed moral overlords who get to decide what I may or may not watch.
