I never thought it an interesting debate, it’s discrimination.

I have my personal opinion about porn, (I think it’s more damaging than useful but that’s simply my personal view.)
Some people use porn to aid in their sex lives, others use it as a means of therapy, and others well they just get messy watching it :)

RE: abuses, it’s not only the lawyers that are abusing copyright laws, the public has a huge hand in that process as well. (Just read some of the comments here.)

If I came across as rude I do apologize. I’m not far left or right, I have been for many years trying to find a balance.
Copyright law(s) are incredibly complicated, toss into the mix that every country has it’s own laws and all the global treaties out there it’s no wonder there’s so much confusion.

And now it’s the TPP! What a bloody mess that’s turning into.

It’s certainly an interesting debate – cheers for the links. I’m inclined to agree with FCT that “can porn be copyrighted?” probably wouldn’t have become an issue if not for the industry and its lawyers abusing copyright law the way they have.

I was thinking it came up not in his disciplinary hearings but when he tried taking a group of alleged downloaders to court, but as I said I could be mistaking it for another case.

This happens often in the comments on sites like this; people draw their own conclusions which are not based on facts.

Crossley has been found guilty of conduct unbefitting a solicitor by the Solicitors Regulation Authority three times, in 2002, 2006 and again in 2012 and is currently suspended from practising as a solicitor.
No judge in any of the claims filed against him even remotely touch on whether porn is copyrightable; there was no “different occasion” as you mentioned above.
