the staff are probably paid from a business account not his own personal funds.. most rich manage money in this way to avoid tax losses.. I doubt Keys would pay his staff from his own money only from business float. as well.

If they fail to do that, they will lose a lot of support which many would have given to it — I will support it and use it if it remains as intended.

This is my impression only — because I am not at all familiar with everything which has been going on in NZ with Dotcom at all.

First: Plunket sounded very biased.
Second: Dotcom did not seem to be very forthcoming about a couple of trivial things.

The question about the crowd chanting “Fuck You John Key” could have been answered (though I do think he tried) in a better way. The question about who printed the John Key masks seemed to annoy Dotcom a bit – if he printed them, just say so; it only required a him to say, “I did” — but he hemmed and hawed about it for a while.

On the question of his “employment disputes” — I have read that Dotcom contributed $4 million to the Mana party.

Why so much? It would have been better had he contributed say, $2 million — the other $2 million could have been used to pay his employees.

I’m not trying to tear down Dotcom here, as I said, I don’t have enough knowledge about what’s been going on there and ‘who’ said ‘what’ to ‘whom.’

That Dotcom didn’t have any ‘bombshell’ to produce along with the presentations of Snowden and Greenwald was probably his undoing.

Politics is a nasty bunch of shit — and it sounds as if there was a great pile of it before the elections.

With Dotcom severing his ties with Baboom and Mega, perhaps things will go better for all.

The last thing I can say about the Plunket interview is in the Disqus comments below it — why is that guy Ron Horne going on about who owns the Internet? Made no sense at all.

The comments seemed to be divided roughly 50/50 about it all, so they were of no help to me. :-)

It’s all over with now anyway. The Internet Party should not have joined with Mana in my opinion. Doing that only seemed to serve as degrading whatever impetus they would have enjoyed had they stayed separate.

I wish Dotcom would be a little more discrete with his public image there in the future. If he came off as a rich foreigner trying to throw his money around to influence the voters, well, it’s his own fault because it looks exactly like that to me also. He should have just stayed low key and in the background. All water under the bridge.

And that’s my take on it all in spite of my ignorance of what goes on in NZ. :-)

I still support Dotcom regardless.
