Problem is, despite this, and the fact that shutting down megaupload in the first place wasn’t actually legal- it doesn’t matter. They never needed a trial- the result is already in place: megaupload doesn’t exist anymore. Even if all of their accounts are unfrozen, assets returned, and all charges are dropped, that doesn’t change the fact that the data is gone, the functionality destroyed.
