Indeed – the *real* crime is the fact that this sort of crap (“infringement” being the same as murder, rape, bank robbery, etc – not the poor quality of most of what the entertainment industry produces) is allowed to continue. Yes, it’s ok that we have homeland security leaks, and terrorists running in the streets, but we really need the FBI to track down people who want to watch movies.

If that isn’t having your head up your @$$ I don’t know what is!

This is just too stupid. Putting a man behind bars or even put him on probation for 3 years. and for what? Sharing a damn movie? Having the FBI track him down, wasting tax payer’s money in the process. Sure let’s just throw him in jail along with the serial killers and rapists, for uploading a (cheesy) movie onto the Internet.

I mean sure some people may or may not loose money from this ‘piracy’. But is it REALLY worth throwing a man in jail for? This just pisses me off on how the laws on copyright are. Sharing a movie is about equivalent to homicide or a terrorist attack? (since the FBI is involved). Jeez, this country really needs to change..

OK so the FBI and the courts nailed two guys who copied a movie that flopped in the box offices. Very good now the corporate execs can rest now that they have their pound of flesh while real crimes, like murder, runs rampant because you took cops off those cases. So there you have it, corporate “crime” is way more important than people killing others. SAD!

If you are doing pre-releases…

Steal a private FTP server (DW pass-stealer) [you could scan for pub ftps too ofc, but they usually die quickly!!]

Use sockscap or something similar to upload (via Tehran/North Korea/etc)

Post link to an FXP board (still using a proxy in a country that doesn’t give a shit about DMCA) and give notice that they have 48 hours to grab a copy before the link goes public. – Then post it publicly. (The link will usually die within 48 hours but by then 5-10 FXPers will have a copy and probably about 50 filesharers, enough for it to appear on p2p networks without it being attributed to you!)

Let others share your pre-release on p2p networks and congratulate yourself on handling the distribution of a pre-release properly with minimal risk to yourself.
