A few years ago there was someone at a local market selling pirated dvd’s i tried to do the right thing and told a police, officer at local bike night (not interested, didn’t even suggest going to make a report at police station) tried local cinema, was asked if it was someone filming, as the answer was NO not interested, they suggested trading standards, so tried their website, but found they wanted too much information (boxes you HAD to fill in) it is hard to give an address for a monday market site, which any local would know where I meant,

As a result why bother doing the right thing.

MPAA TURNS NEW LEAF

In light of extensively- and authoritatively documented cases of MPAA disinformation and -abuses of power, CEO Chris Dodd today indicated a surprise reversal of the organization’s dependence on FUD and intimidation, disavowing “hyperbole and PR stunts” designed to “punish their users or turn them into their corporate pawns” while they “intentionally skew the facts to incite their users in order to further their corporate interests”.

While Dodd’s accusations of poor corporate citizenship were aimed at an unnamed entity, his comments are widely-known to have been a response to the actions of Wikipedia, a non-profit organization comprised entirely of its users.
