Since the research they request has already been published by national think tanks in at least three different nations, it’s even worse than pissing 20k on “unbiased” research.

It’s pissing 20k on “unbiased” research capable of producing a different result than everyone else has come up with…

Especially so since unbiased research has already been published. Three governments i know of – the dutch, the Swiss, the UK with their hargreaves report – have alredy published for free what they copyright cult now says they want to pay money for.

And these people say you can’t compete with “free”, eh? Or was it just that every independent study yet published has arrived at unpalatable conclusions?

The copyright cult is begging for a whole army of P.T. Barnums to take them to the cleaners.

herein lies the golden statement. no research funded by the mpaa can be unbiased, when this is their stated goal and objective. the mpaa is in the business of making money for hollywood. period. i would trust any mpaa funded research as much as i’d trust a christian-based survey on the benefits of satanism. lol

And by unbiased, they probably mean “caters to their specific view of piracy and nothing else”. I can’t imagine the MPAA forking over $20,000 for research that undermines their recent sue-happy and censorship practices.
