In short, it’s the wife’s fault for being uppity when the husband beats her, and if a girl dresses provocatively it’s her own fault if she gets raped?

Common sense does indeed dictate that you don’t act like an ass in front of unstable people and that pretty girls should be careful when walking alone through certain parts of town.

However, what you are saying is tantamount to declaring that we should find a society where wife-beating and rape is acceptable as long as there has been sufficient provocation – from a legislative standpoint.

It doesn’t matter what the provocation is. Whether it’s filesharers using open-sourced code or if it’s terrorists communicating through encrypted darknets. If a government tries to strip away inalienable civil liberties under such flimsy pretexts then it is time for such a government to go.

If you have any more nonsense to bring to the table on that issue, feel free to do so.
