I think Alan will be fine. I don’t see how he did anything (seriously) wrong. the whole approach of the mpaa and the riaa is fucked. they need to embrace the technology and let it help them. spending countless dollars on litigation and enforcement will not be the answer. the brick and mortar cd industry is dead. they need to roll with the changing tide. instead of going after oink and other sites like it, they should be acquiring them and finding a way to compromise. i think music would be a lot better off because of it. look at what Radiohead did with in rainbows. that is the future. the future is here.

I miss the hell out of oink. I never got around to obtaining an invite to waffles/what because I had this hope that one day my beloved pink palace would return in all it’s glory and I would feel at home again.

I’m a huge triphop/downtempo fan and oink was the only place to find a lot of the artists I like. I discovered tons of new artists that I even went out and ordered CDs for. Guess they don’t think about that when they are taking down these sites.
