see, this is why people just have no faith in what they say. especially when we have artits and producers STATING if it wasnt for piracy and p2p they wouldnt be successful. hell even stephen fry are calling the multiple industrys a bunch of idiotic morrons having a go at people that love and support the industry yet get treated liek criminals.

and my 2nd “hll even” is based on the uk’s house of commons, stating quite clearly that piracy HELPED make AVATAR become one of the biggest profitable movies ever.

PROFITABLE people, ie they made no lose.

and in the ssame sentence they even had a swipe at the untrue and unfactual numbers of theortical loses that music and movie industry people like mpaa state they lose on

I will pay you for your content by helping to distribute it. If you let me. Linux distributors seem to understand this – In my torrent client right now, there are 6 linux distros seeding. In the past 6 months, I’ve provided over 400 copies to people, 400 copies that Linux distributors didn’t have to pay to send out to users.

You hire a distribution company to spread your work around and build your popularity. I’m willing to do that at no cost to you. If you’ll let me. How much money do you pay to that distribution company? Wouldn’t you rather pay them with a copy of your work, rather than sending them your hard-earned dollars? THAT is the service I offer. Don’t look a gift-horse in the mouth.

You don’t want my help? Fine. I’ll let you keep paying your distribution company for what I can provide for free. I’ll still get what I want – I’ll download from some other seeder, somewhere you can’t reach. And I’ll give back to those seeders by providing whatever I can, whether that is the work of your competitors, linux distros, old movies that aren’t likely to be actively defended… It’s all data that I can share, all of it pushes my upload ratio up.

If I DO NOT ride a ride, buy a book or go to a movie or purchase proprietary software or if I read a discarded newspaper, why do they not count that as “Lost Revenue?” I am still screwing them out of money, according to their inside-out logic. It is nothing more than COPYRIGHT violation, not theft. It is the burden of the copyright holder to defend their works. The US DOJ is not the personal police department for media and publishing companies. The proper venue for defending your copyrighted works is the courts, not wholesale ISP shutdowns based on the media companies’ say-so. In the US, we have a due-process clause in the Constitution.

What he fails to mention is that HIS shopowner is charging $100 for a magical loaf of bread that reappears the minute it is stolen. Akin to the owner of the bicycle putting in an insurance claim of $1M every time his magical reappearing bicycle is stolen.
If these assclowns charged $7 to $12 a movie i would probably buy 3 a month.

by the way…..have you noticed now that China is now being targeted as a country of pirates whose entire economy is somehow inbred with piracy of every sort or flavor…..the same federal wind bags who stand in front of the Homeland Security podiums spewing that concept….would be the first wind bags to complain about having to pay 500 dollars for an American made microwave oven…when the exact same type and style of microwave can be had for 49 bucks at Walmart…that Walmart one of course being “Made in China” If there is one thing in this life or any other that is an absolute indicator of man’s absolute propensity towards wickedness…it’s those who practice “Do as I say…not as I do”……and aren’t even aware of it.

If there was something actually worth watching on television or at the movie theater or on the radio…..maybe I would spend more time doing those things and less time downloading things I do like. If a person pays to go see a movie that winds up being nothing but pure crap……hasn’t their own “time” just been stolen? This is about time folks…..not money. And millions of us have decided that our “time” is worth something. So Metallica can tour and get get paid for their time that way….and John Travolta and Tom Cruise and all of those other Hollywood gas bags can get paid by the studios for their time that way. My time is valuable…some days much more than others.

i feel no remorse about putting my stuff in digital format, because if i buy it then it belongs to me not to the author, movie or music companys. like people point out this same old song has been played by the music companys when tape recorders came out, all said it would be the end of music well i see they are still here and same goes for the movie companies and since sony owns one of the biggest why did they bring beta max out then make vhs tapes now make dvd’s. why don’t they all stop making these and just force people to buy the dang movies, music, i can tell you why and if i could print out what a friend that is kinda high up in one of these where i wouldn’t get arrested i would blow them out of the water because he gave me what amounts to the wiki leaks of the us goverment but i don’t have the time, money to stay out of jail.
get real folks at these places and embrace the internet at a great and fair price and wham piracy is gone but sit on your sorry butts and go the way of the past and keep losing money but not what you report as your internal emails spell a whole different story you big liars and cheap bas___ds.
i may dl your nmovie but i have a legal copy of each one that i have because if i like it i buy it but not at 26.99 a movie but at 5 to 9.99 when its on sale at store or movie rental place as they have me on call when they sale them. when i see somebody like good old cage losing his castle or two or somebody like lohann doing the way they do or some big shot rapper having more gold on then he needs then i am glad i dl on the internet as i tell you all to kiss my royal butt.

Actually, we should call this P2P, file sharing or whatever. Piracy was forced onto us by the ppl that want to stop us. But I will use the term PIRATE. I AM a PIRATE. Simply because it’s a label for freedom and for change. Interestingly they created this legend among us and provided us with a flag to unite against them in their attempts to demoralize the act of file sharing.

In the end, every time they moan I see one stronger sign we have won the war.
