Then what?
The point is: no matter what law you enact against it, can you ENFORCE it? :-) Because that’s the pudding’s proof: eat it.

Now, as far as I know, so far absolutely NO US lawsuit could win in China, Russia, Iran, Brazil, etc. Hence, in those US-opponent countries (countries who don’t like the USA anyway, so they have nothing to lose) piracy will just flourish further, and the ones who will “suffer” (from the lack of piracy) will be the overpoliced West.

I don’t think Biden’s initiative will collect wind, it will be blown over just like every other attempt in the past.

And the key is in this word: ENFORCEMENT. Unless the Pentagon shoots each and every pirate down with a laser-guided missile such that avoids triggering WWIII, I don’t see much possibility to enforce ANY laws that the US may come up with regarding piracy.

Sorry for the pessimistic note, but I just want to be realistic. I don’t see ANY viable way to make the Chinese do what America wants, to that’s where the game ends.

The product was a smash hit, and our viewer base was growing nicely … until broadband became the norm. Then as soon as we launched a new film/dvd it would put up online for our fans to download! The last project I worked on, we had the MOST hits on our website on launch, with fan mail coming from all around the world – mostly from countries we didn’t even sell to?!? Our local sales diminished, and to add insult to injury people who only downloaded the pirated copy of our DVD, would write to us and tell us how much they enjoyed the DVD and when would we make another one? It killed the franchise.
