When technology changed and CD was introduced, the prices went up at least 5 times. Did the happen for artists’ benefit?

The master movie makers are not the highest paid. The award winners in Cannes, Oscar etc. are not having the biggest collection. Most marketed movies with silly plots and animation movies are biggest hits, why. So the reward is not for the best works. Does all this happen because of piracy?

if you actually sat down and listen to some of their material WITHOUT thinking about who they are, you might like it.
then again I might be biased, since during their first run I had 3 teenage sisters, so in other words I got used to them from a very early age because of my sisters listening to them 24/7.

I’m old enough to remember the introduction of the music cassette in or around 1965 and remember also how the music industry at the time predicted the imminent end of itself because people could suddenly record their own mixtapes – and not a penny in royalties to the poor musicians or, worse, revenue for the industry.
Well, that didn’t happen, right?
Then along came the video cassette. The same bellyaching again, now from the movie industry. I hear they’re doing OK though. Then it was music CD’s, then recordable DVD’s…

i wonder if anyone ever looks at the lobbying expenses these guys do. mix in that little statistic in with those and everything else they’re pushing(six strikes) and we could have one hell uva graph.
