Agreed. If you say something about a thing without mentioning sources it’s nothing more than your own opinion. And we tend to give our opinions instead of presumed facts since we usually don’t know the facts entirely so opinions are subject to change.

Actually, I failed at my attempts to give a damn to what the critics and awards say simply because they couldn’t care less if the movie is entertaining/worth the money, not to mention awards and judges can be bought. So his opinion might be more valuable, along with yours.

Remember, nowadays nothing official should be considered without proper scrutiny ;)

So, unles a person specifically states that what they just said is their opinion, you will automatically assume they are stating (presumed) facts ?

And quite frankly, i don’t care if the masses accept these institutions that run the awards ceremonies as being an ‘authority’ on the matter, because with all the dreck coming out of these studios that makes millions, i can hardly take the public at large all too serious.

And no, i don’t care for IMDB’s nonsense either.
The MPAA, movie studios, related companies and their employees can easily make profiles there and manipulate numbers and ratings (as is proven often enough on low budget stuff, let alone the big ‘moneymakers’), on top of the previously mentioned masses that in all likelyhood wouldn’t be able to tell french fries from a fresh pile of horse manure, if said excrement was presented to them with enough spiel by the media…
