Robert Steele has absolutely zero credibility. He is such a low life as to resort to using wikipedia to promote his worthless company and his company’s false accusations don’t only exist in these pointless little “settlement notices” they send out. He is so pathetic that he is willing to cast a dark shadow on places where they don’t belong.

To understand his character, or lack thereof, take notice of his actions on wikipedia in order to try and suppress any documented truth about his company’s practices. If he can sink this low to try and protect his companies image, does the low life have an ounce of credibility? How can the COO of a company be so low as to not only engage in a babyish edit war, but to FALSELY ACCUSE someone of something repeatedly when he doesn’t get his way. He and his company have no scruples.

Checking the hashes is a terrible idea, for a lot of reasons, but that aside… the technical implications of it would be insane! Either the client would have to check the hash against some central server… which would be easy to bypass, or the client would have to have many millions of the hashes built in, with the ability to add new ones every few seconds… which would be impossible to maintain or even use.

…non-tech people should really not try to talk about technology at all.

They would have to have every client download billions of pirate hashes. And even then people would just switch to an open source client. Further it would give pirates hashes to look at and search.

Steele’s rants just show his desperation at this point to keep Rightscorp relevant and actually afloat. No CEO or CTO goes on a rant like this via social media when everything is running smoothly and fine. He arguments reek of a guy who knows time is running out on his company, so he’s trying to rally the anti-piracy troops at this point. Too little too late Steele.
