Well, yes and no. The MPAA/RIAA is the enforcement arm of the copyright cult. Nothing more than a bubbling mass of lawyers paid for by the distinct members – which is where Sony, EMI and Warner come in.

Point being that from the MPAA/RIAA perspective any anti-piracy solution which would actually WORK is a disaster which would see the lot of them out of a job.

Which is why the MPAA/RIAA’s actions quite often torpedo Sony, EMI and Warner beneath the waterline. The copyright cult is a beast which quite literally eats itself.

That tide was always predicted as inevitable. Copyright enforcement simply isn’t possible in a reality where actual law exists.

I.e. the copyright cult’s promised land is something like China, except that the censure must be held by private companies, not the state.

Plagiarism has nothing to do with copyright, but the sad thing is that the educational campaigns issued by the RIAClones worldwide, aimed at adolescents, frequently conflate the two topics. They think that taking someone else’s artwork and saying that they made it is the same as downloading music.

Which is stupid, because nobody ever downloads “The Pirate Bay Creative Suite 4″ and so on. How seriously do you think kids are going to take the law if you can’t even get it right yourself?
