JFK was the last president who brought any personal integrity to the office (regardless of Marilyn Monroe). :-)

Ever since, each one of them have been real, genuine dummies.

I don’t mean that they were dumb — but that they don’t do what they think is best for the country — they all do what the corporations and banks say is best for the country.

My ability to “give a fuck’ for our country grows weaker with each passing day, but that’s only because I see the political system as a total failure any more.

Why do you think the only time they vote something in is when it benefits themselves? Removing the cap on campaign donations. Who did that benefit? Keep raising the debt limit so the government doesn’t shut down? Who does that benefit? Sooner or later, the US government is going to have to pay for what they, and past politicians, have done to the US. Things won’t change until it hits bottom, and they keep moving the bottom lower and lower….

By choosing this subject of research, the researchers main contribution is to claim that studios use download statistics to prove piracy harm which is false and Mpaa and others have long been aware that such a methodology is plagued with problems. Yet All those downloads can’t be for the purpose of keeping computers warm so at least some is substitutional and some substitutes for home video – which isn’t studied and which is a more important source of revenue than box office. All the study shows is that the relationship with box office is complicated. That is not news.

Good on you, really. It’s doing something. I’m doing my part by signing partitions, voting when I can and letting FCC know how stupid they are on what they’re trying to do to the internet now.

USA is one ironic country, I’m ashamed to be a citizen in it everyday. Every President has a little to-do list of their own while they lie through their teeth during their election campaigns so they can get to them as soon as possible. There’s no honor in being the president anymore.

It’s all about this stupid and pointless tug of war for control over the people, when they should be serving the people. That is the long forgotten purpose in the role of presidency. As a country we’re more divided than we are united which is the huge irony in the name of “United States”. We mind as well be called “Divided States of American’ts”. Since we’re supposedly capable of doing anything.

When really, we can’t because the majority doesn’t want to do anything but live comfortably without a single fuck given.

When I voted for the parliamentary elections 2 years ago I did look into the stance of political parties on internet freedom. The party I voted for did a lot of good work. Internet neutrality is now regulated by law.

The problem is that in America neither party cares about freedom much. The bribes are flowing to both sides and ofcourse you have the NSA.
