" They are looking at that ruling which was initially in their favor (but overturned on appeal) as not being the finally word."

That's what we said. They are ignoring precedent. Historically, judges from all states tend to look askance at this, and where copyright trolls are concerned, Prenda Law has certainly blazed a long trail of ill will among the judiciary for judges to follow.

It's pretty damn obvious that Rightscorp is actually trying to evade the legal requirements by way of a loophole here, and as Prenda displayed, that is not a good way to test how much you can get away with.

"It is better that the actual account holder can be contacted and the situation addressed directly..."

Except that there IS ample precedent in US courts stating emphatically that the account holder/ip adress is not enough to identify an infringer with.

So they aren't just exploiting a loophole. They are also in direct violation of a stronger precedent by far. Or will be, the very first time anyone actually calls their bluff and goes to court.

A new shiny nick created just for the occasion, Baghdad bob?

Because from where I'm standing, all I see is a cocky copyright troll saying they believed the court was wrong so they'll go ahead and ignore the ruling.

Care to take a guess what happens when copyright trolls act like that? Prenda law and ACS:Law come to mind. The only thing seen here is a bundle of new copyright trolls spitting their lack of ethics into the eyes of a few dozen judges.

I could wish all copyright trolls were as dumb.

As usual, then, you are simply giggling like a demented monkey while your tree is burning down from under you.

1) What pirates do is "unlawful"
2) What the corporations do is, in this case, criminal. Fraud to be precise.

In short, you just stated that because people jaywalk it's ok to assault them.

Spoken like a true copyright cultist.

"Let me copy all your bank information, I'm not stealing it, you still have the original copy."

Because there is no difference between a a secret you can rely on no one else having access to and published information anyone with a radio or TV set has already partaken of.

What should be criminal here is the stupidity of your statements.

Because if they do, the catchers become the criminals?

Personally I'd welcome that. It means the legal basis of copyright died the very first time a copyright troll decided to abuse it.

Not big on the concept of "law" are you?
