Socialism is tantamount to slavery, certainly bonded servitude. You either submit to vastly excessive taxation, imposed with force or you live destitute on the streets.

Now that’s some serious exaggeration.

First of all, the tax level in socialist countries is not that much different than the level in the US.
There are exceptions to this like Norway and Sweden but they also reap a lot more benefits. For example, college is free and you also get a scholarship which essentially amounts to being paid to study.

The difference is only in the use of tax money and the general mindset.

Additionally, Socialism’s goal is to avoid that you end up with the streets if something goes wrong or you can’t sustain yourself.
So that statement is pretty much contradictory.

A large part of the money taken from you by force is then distributed to those you wouldn’t piss on to extinguish a fire or to politicians’ pet projects.

All tax money on every country is taken from you “by force”.
That statement is also incredibly deceiving. If you don’t approach taxes in the US with the same mindset of it being taken by force (which is a safe assumption given your tone) you’re being two faced.

Secondly, the money is passed to those in need of it if you plan to suck on state money for the rest of your life, you’re not gonna get far.
Faking sickness, not wanting to work and any other things will just ensure you run out of time and support very quickly.
This varies from country to country of course but I’ve lived in enough countries and know enough people to tell you this is the norm in the vast majority.

Finally, is it not true that spending tax-money on politician’s pet projects and corporations of friends of politicians also happens (and with a bigger degree) in the US?
In fact, is it not true that one of the biggest problems with the US is corporations demanding and spending tax money inefficiently???

Do not confuse those taxes people are prepared to pay, would pay voluntarily, for healthcare, schooling and so on.

You don’t pay taxes FOR healthcare and whatnot. You’re taxed on a lot of things (purchases, income etc) and the difference is in how that money is funnelled.
People willing and unwilling to pay for social security would be taxed on the exact same things.

In the UK people work for about a day per week for the things they would choose and another 2 days for the things they would not, accounting for direct and indirect taxation.

And so they would in non socialist countries.
In fact, most people in the US are taxed the same way as people in the UK or anywhere else in Europe.
Like I said above it’s all a matter of how the money is funnelled.

Let people give to those non basics BY CHOICE. Bet not many do.

Of course not.
Most people don’t think of others problems, especially that which they can’t see.
However when the shit hits the fan they’re the first to ask for help, but then they wouldn’t get any because everyone else things like they thought before.
To prevent this, everyone steps in and helps each other. It’s a very selfless thing.

In the US this is, however, taken to an extreme level of selfishness where not only you don’t give a fuck but you also would ask for it when you need it and probably complain when people don’t.

So Socialism, a slightly controlled capitalist model to ensure that everyone has a comfortable life above a certain threshold that could otherwise be ignored for pure capitalist reasons is worse than communism?

That’s putting the money above the person. Something terribly inhumane and cold. Even amoral.

I’m not even sure if you’re just full of misinformation at this point or just blindly hating on something you don’t fully understand.
I’ll hope it’s the first which is easily solved if you don’t have a dogmatic mindset.
