I can sympathize with Google’s concerns to police against piracy but they really do need to step up to the plate on this issue. Yes, asking Google to remove all illegal content from their search results would be an extremely daunting and troublesome task but Google right now is not doing enough. I have read some articles of how Google plans on cutting into websites that share illegal content by removing advertising and am pleased to see progress being made but so much more can be done. Piracy continues to go unchecked and I support Russia’s attempts to protect copyright holders.

I think that Russia is making the right choice with the passage of these laws. Copyrights and patents protect information and encourage innovation. They allow a work to be preserved and protected. If I created something like an original song or film I would not want people to steal it and claim it as their own. If there was no protection like this in place then everything would be free and no one would own anything or try to create new material because they would not be properly compensated for their new material.

Then you’re shooting yourself in the foot. Due to the amount people that are posting under your guest username, it’s impossible for the mods to determine who has the correct ip address under the Disqus dashboard.

Although they could just do us all a favor and ban every use of the bobmail username so we won’t have to hear you prattle on about how offended you are.
