I'm from Denmark, and i'd rather see our Government take care of all the other shit then start dealing with copyright.
Our government is already unpopular, and dealing with copyright st this time would only please the music industry and The France government, rather then making people happy -and our government needs to stop pissing voters off.
"Negotiations between lawyers, rightsholders, ISPs and other groups have been going on since the start of the year..."

...Comon was told by Committee members that they had “promised to keep working secretly in order not to create too much fuss” and “could never agree on some recommendations if there was too much public debate about its work.”
Right, it doesn't concern the ppl anyway. No tax money is being or will be used with this and they are thinking about the population thoughts and opinions since they are experts on this issue, not to mention fair and balanced. [/sarcasm] lol srsly?

The Microsoft comment is interesting. They actually benefit from their system being installed everywhere, suppresses competition. If they were smart they'd release a free windows version for home use without the most powerful tools (advanced network management for instance). I wouldn't mind having a small box with text ads on my sidebar... O well, nvm.

lol I actually thought about this a couple of times - they do their "against piracy"-thing with taxpayers' money but at the same time taxpayers are the pirates. We live in a twisted world indeed...So the government and entertainment industry are allowed to steal but low-life scumbags aka pirates (according to the fatties up there on the throne) are not.

is it just me or is this closely reminiscent of the ACTA? all negotiations for that have been kept under lock and key, simply because those involved were aware that the public and pro-privacy bodies would shout out against it. the entertainment industries want everything their way, refuse to adapt to the internet age even though in a lot of countries, money is paid to supplement the labels (not the artists!) with higher charges when buying disks, burners, associated software and to compensate for downloading. they are still not happy and continue to lobby for new prevention laws and carry on wanting to sue people. enough is never going to be enough for these industries. complete control is what they are and always have been after. Denmark will fail in trying to appease them just as other countries have. what makes it worse is, the industries want every other related type of company to foot the bill, which is then passed on to the public. double hit again!!
