The same language can be used to describe the difference in revenue between charging one price or another, piracy aside. For example, if 200 people bought software at $50 each, then the “Potential Revenue Lost” from not charging $75 each is $5000. But of course, the revenue isn’t “lost”, they simply didn’t charge it and didn’t earn it. Similarly, assuming that the nearly 50k Adobe downloaders per day could somehow, even in principle, be made to pay $999 each is retarded – the money simply isn’t there, let alone “lost”.
