Who the fuck do these people think they are. I love my pirate bay. If copyright is here to stay then google is fucked. The idea of a shared world database of information is fucked. Everything that we hope for as a global internet populous will never exist because most of the information we wish to use and access is "Protected" by copy right information. I hope that one day this idea of copy right will fade away. I hope one day my children will be able to access all the worlds books from google or another internet database like wikipedia. The idea of the internet is to share information. I hope that idea can stay alive.

I believe that they could better themselves if:

They release movies to DVD at the same time as theaters.

They Lower their greedy prices.

They stop using money on pathetic advertising that are getting them nowhere.

And Piracy does not fund criminals and terror, most of it is made by teenagers in mommys basement.

Alright, kdsd, stop talking in code or cryptics, it's just confusing everyone.

I agree mostly with Anon.

People are also missing a very important part. The pirating that this little vid is referring to,(or at least more closely resembles) is actual bootlegs. The kind that are sold on the streets. *Those* really are organized crime and do/can affect sales/distribution/blah/blah/blah.

That version of piracy wrong.

The reason it's wrong is because the wrong person is getting paid though. The bootlegger is being just as greedy as the big company's and keepin it all for themselves.

What you people are missing is that P2P *IS NOT* piracy. There is no exchange of money between hands. It's goodwill(mostly... not in totality though), and the exchange of decent entertainment and arts.

Although the 'owner' isn't getting paid, neither is the distributor. Half the time the quality isn't as good either. Another half of that fraction the person will(if he likes the movie/game/music/etc. enough) go buy the real version, because it does not lack-luster in quality what-so-ever(...it would be the original after-all...).

As a side-excursion, this relates to why DRM fails. It ruins the original, and devalue's the hardwork put into the piece of work. It in fact hurts sales, and makes people want a copied, passed around version, not because it is the original or as valuable, but because the things that ruin the original can/usually are removed(harmful or unwanted ID3 tags, or DRM encoding, or maybe you just needed a certain subtitle set for it).

Last side-note, I know this will not be complete enough, as I never remember to say everything there is I could say about this, and after I go watch the video-link that kdsd posted(so that I can be correct in all subjective views, and be fair to all parties) I most likely will not be returning(was originally looking for the best bittorrent client for this old win98..).

I dont see how the money we spend at a market or any other shopping place where we get coppied movies or games goes to fund terrorism, it goes to the person that sells the product, now if they were a terrorist then yes it would most likely go towards it, but mostly its just a normal person trying to make some easy money, I personally know people that copy movies and games and they take the money for themselfs and they arent terrorists. I think sharing free music and other things over P2P programs helps with advertising. I also think music (albums) and movies are over priced, many a time i've fought about trying a new movie or music band because I like to try new things, but I dont want to risk waisting my money. The government just cries about it because they are losing their share of the pie.

I buy a lot of movies for a buck or two in Viet,China or where ever. I watch a few times & pass it on to friends. When I really like it I`ll buy the real one for the sound & picture. I`m not wasting my money anymore buying shit movies the bizz keeps pumping out, and they have been mostly shit the last few years! Why not try to have them around 10 bucks each, since it`s only costing U guys pennies each now on disc? That itself would kill the illegal bizz too,Yes? I remember when CD`s came out,the bizz said"When we have most of people buying discs instead of tapes or records the price should drop to under 10 a disc" Well that never happened either did it? Fuck em, they did it to themselves!!

I don't know for sure how this industry works abroad, 'cause I'm french ...

Anyway, anybody who buys any support able to record any media pays a tax upon it, which is supposed to pay for copyrights ... Beside that, our industry has been making for more tahan 30 years incredible profits, that they're used to spend in the most stupid ways ...

Today, they have to face the changes that we all have to cope with, and they're still trying to claim for more money ... Let them learn ... @_@

This is just like the video saying if you smoke weed you go insane. It has been provin that the record industry hasn't been hurt by P2P, sales have not been affected. In fact it has helped out the underground indie bands that if P2P wasn't around wouldn't be found as easily found or heard cause if distribution from independent labels. The movie industry shouldn't be also mad cause who wants to spend 10 bucks on an ending of make a copy (The ring) and as it was said in the other posts here, part 2s and imagination is their downfall brought on by themselves.
