@Ped0 Pride aka "true cinemaphile"

I never said indy films were great and everything in a top ten list is junk. A lot of indy is utter shite. What I did aim to say is that a lot of 'good' movies probably don't get the audience they deserve if they're not marketed to the point where they reach lists like this here. Think of it like analysing a 'Top 10' list of pop music where you find bands like Brittany Spears, Take That, Spice Girls, Ludacris, Boyzone, because it's heavily promoted on tv and radio and print to the point where that's about all most people hear and know. It's not to say that great stuff doesn't ever make it in those lists, or that a lot of people don't like that stuff, but the media most heavily marketed in the first place largely determines what ends up in those lists, and much of it is done not because it's great, but because that's where companies determine the most money to be made.

So when you throw a Top 10 like this up here what does it do? It promotes the same handful that've already been amped up by the industry. Is that not free promotion for them? They might not get paid by downloaders, but they get people talking about their wares and that drives sales.

Side comment: Why don't TF have a Top 10 for music?

It’s rather quaint how you...

All bullshit from this point. You don't know what you're talking about, because you don't know me. Stop thinking you do.

So be on your way, off to watch the "cream of the crop". Real stunners like: Legion; Ninja Assassin; Old Dogs; The Fourth Kind. It's funny, as judging by the ratings there looks like a lot of others think it's shite too.
