This reputation system sounds similar to queue from eMule. It practically ruined edonkey2000. Same here, ppl with slow ADSl will wait days for dl somethig.

Unfortunately, Tribler for Mac PPC is not supported. You may try running it from source using a Python interpreter.

When running from source, it is recommended to set the PYTHONPATH environment variable to . and go into the root of the Tribler directory. You can then start Tribler using “python Tribler/Main/tribler.py”.

No, it wasn’t. BT showed that while ED2K is effective the same thing can be done even more effectively. Yes, we now how PEX and DHT, but these are all additions. In it’s core BT (atleast the client part) still is a relatively simple system which only deals with choosing and transporting pieces and doesn’t mess around with determining peers or helping in searches. Hence the overhead of the protocol is small. Thanks to which clients like uT could emerge. Have you seen something as light as uT for ED2K? The closest thing I’ve found was Hydranode (which is discontinued now), and that’s because it’s GUI was separate, not built in.

Shortly said: BT is the leaner and more practical realization of the P2P idea. Ed2k does sport a number of extra functions, but that does not automatically equal “better”.
