Just scrolling down all these comments proves that we’re an overly PC lot now. OK, these were racist, but, IMHO unintentional on the TV station’s part. An NTSB guy with no permission to talk to the press (wasn’t in his pay grade) issued those names and the station passed them on without any due diligence in getting further verification.

OK, the station was embarrassed and certainly does have a right to control their product under copyright law. That’s not even in question in my mind. But, they merely needed to stand on that instead of kissing the rumps of the PC community who go out of their way to attack any little thing that offends them.

Anyone remember the famous line “Sir, I do not like what you said, but, I will defend to the death your right to say it”? What happened to that? When did it become, “Sir, I hated what you said, it offended me and I will see to it that you’re punished severely for it.”

When did “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but, words will never hurt me” follow by the optional sticking out of the tongue become irrelevant?

I still find these to be funny because I know they are PUNS or a play on words. Those who saw the broadcast before the takedown saw that the anchor had to be careful with “Ho Le Fuk” because had she used the pronunciation that would be automatic, she would have gotten the station a $250K fine from the FCC.

Yeah, the crash was about as funny as getting one’s foot stepped on as the aircraft was destroyed and passengers killed by what will most likely be called pilot error. So, I can see where some folks would be angry at the wordplay. Station should have apologized, suspended or fired those who allowed the names to reach the anchor desk where it was passed on to the viewers and moved on with their lives.

What I want to know is why there aren’t proof readers in the newsroom.. was there a big rush to get the names out first? This is the biggest thing since the OJ news van interview… on CNN. It only took complaints from the viewing public to say WTF! You know there were many pissed off Koreans that day! Ok, now somebody make a gangnam style mashup.. and be done with it..

YouTube is headed for a massive lawsuit anyway. Google is the largest copyright violator through it’s Youtube channel out there. I find it interesting (and laughable) how the movie and record labels can go after the average Joe Blow who has their content, but Google can host copyrighted material on YT and hide behind, “if no one cares, it’s okay” policy. Pull it off a torrent site, you’re a criminal. Watch it on youtube, it’s perfectly fine. Class Action suit doesn’t quite cover it. They’re going down, it’s only a matter of time.

So they own the rights to the broadcast? Then I don’t see how this isn’t a copyright issue. They don’t want people seeing it, they own a copyright, they’re enforcing it. Free speech doesn’t apply here, you’re not saying something by putting a video on youtube, you’re reproducing it in a different format lol.

if he thinks hes disrupting the debate, he doesn’t realize that discus’s new system has already done that for him. the coherency of the debate was lost, put into a puzzle, when they updated it. disqus are the biggest trolls,
