You still need a TV license or subscription fee in order to watch streams from the content holders (like Sky or BT) online.

The BBC has its iPlayer and Sky has Sky Go, both online catch-up services, but only has content available for x amount of days, or sometimes not at all. It's not always physically possible to stream content from the provider itself without an extra fee to download it, and even then it only allows me to watch it for a certain amount of days or a certain amount of times before I have to pay again.

When I pay for a music download, or when I buy a DVD or CD, I'm able to play it as many times as I want without further costs. Why is that not the same for video content? especially when - if I remember to record my programs on my DVR or Sky box - then it sits there indefinitely to be played over and over, until I decide to delete it?

All of this is aimed at forcing people to pay more for what they already get, and it only happens with TV.

P.S. EZTV is not a paid service, and nor are the sites it links to. It's an indexing site and therefore not a piracy site. The same as MiniNova was, or isoHunt is, or TPB. The sharers are those, technically, committing illegal acts. If you are of the mindset that these sites are doing something illegal, then you also have to believe that the makers of BitTorrent clients like uTorrent, Azureus/Vuze, etc. are also doing something illegal by providing a gateway to users wishing to share copyrighted content.
