I don’t think its a case of people being happy with this but having not much choice. i mean even most of the broadband comparison websites only cover virgin,bt,talk talk,sky and plusnet.

Talk talk,plus net and bt are actually part of the same company but branded different. So really there are three big isps virgin,sky and bt. Sky bought out be internet two years ago and that was one of the biggest independent isp firms in britain.

Somehow the competition comission okayed this, and official statistics say we have a choice here but its worse than in the states or as worse. With Time warner and comcast.
