It’s not like these corporations get away with paying millions in tax by using every loophole they can find, oh no.

Piracy has been an issue for them since the first ever release of movies/music or whatever. but none have really worked to provide an alternative nor cheaper option. Netflix and Amazon etc have come in the kind of fix this issue but they don’t get new releases.

So I say again why should I go to work every day to fund their stupidity? (PS. I do go to the cinema every week, sometimes multiple times, I buy music (if its good enough – their is so much crap out there thats really not worth a purchase) and the same goes for movies). I don’t see why I should have to pay again).

So if the entertainment industry wants this kind of service from the government they should stop avoiding TAX (which im sure they do in one way or another) and they should pay for it.

The simple fact is, since the framework was set up a few years ago, the UK film industry has boomed. Count the productions – the numbers speak for themselves. This is because the UK (which has high tax rates) needs to compete against other countries.

The difference between this (and similar) Tax relief and the general “wealth creator” bullshit is that these industries are based on the skills of people. It’s human meat and sweat that’s the product, and none of these humans are on minimum wage. Times are good!

Foreign money says: “Sounds like a deal – We need this building” = Freelancers get brought in. The relief is only a percentage of the tax anyway.
