This has already been done years ago, except MP3 against higher/lower bitrates and the original. Also it depended on the type of music. For “noisy” music (disco like) lower bitrates were sufficient and some classical higher.

Don’t remember the exact details written but audiophiles did fail to notice the difference at 192K and higher in all cases.

Absolutely agree, if this Brigstow type uploaded it, why didn’t he put it up in lossless? Are the cds being sold proper cds or just mp3s?

As for the ‘livid’ comment, it came from The Sun which is notorious for making up quotes. I’m sure Dave is perfectly happy, probably just wonders why it’s only in lossy format.

Typical. The recording industry / distributors / corporations don’t care about the artist. Only their work.

Thanks for finally agreeing with the average file sharer. I have no problem with compensating talented artists. They are the ones that deserve the lions share after all, whether it be money and/or adulation. Without them, the corporations and fans would have nothing.
