Also, people don’t seem to understand what the problem with piracy is. Imagine I created something, a unique invention and I patented it, copyrighted the name and such, and then a few days later, someone does the exact same thing, follows my blueprints and such and makes money out of something I put my time and energy into? If I put millions into this invention and someone just copied me once I was done, would that be fair? No. People complain about cinema ticket prices being too high. I complain about them but I rarely watch movies nowadays. Back 70 years, a movie was a luxury. We complain too much these days, if we had a look at a third world country, we’d be smiling because we would then realise that we are in a lucky position. Phara and the other mods made money out of the film industry and out of us. She had that bullshit idea ‘One dollar, one ninja’ thing. I wasn’t going to waste any of my money helping them out. She got what was coming to her. The fact is, the law is the law. If you want to change the law, change it but if you break the law, you break the law and that is what Phara did. You can talk about what is morally right and such but the law is the law. I have one simple rule for myself, if you can’t obey the law, get the fuck out of this country.

I remember going on Ninjavideo when it was in its prime. The admins always talked about having the right to speak about stuff and yet when someone talked bad about ninjavideo even in the slightest…BANNED! Ninjavideo was a good website but the admins were idiots. And the fact that they earned that much money?!? 22 months isn’t long enough for Phara. She is the type of person who thinks they have power when they actually don’t. I remember that manifesto that she said a few years back…that was comedy gold :)

I walk into Joe’s Music Mart and pay for a 45 and through the magic of technology I make a mp3 copy. Most would agree that is legal and common sense to back up your file.

I upload that mp3 to a server and on my website I post a link to that mp3. Now you are giving away something (the song) that is not yours. This giveaway is not morally or legally right since the song rights belong to another and not the person who copied it.

If you are selling legal copies than the producers of that copy have been paid and the money you make is the mark up you add to the price of the legal copy.

This whole bit is not about freedom of speech or censorship it’s about people working for a living putting their ideas on a medium and offering it for sale.

If you copy that medium for free and put it somewhere where others can copy for free you have deprived the idea person of his just reward.

What he’s trying to say is that if you sell illegal copes of something (or in this case stream) you are stealing. Basically what he’s trying to say is it’s OK to download stuff and use it for personal use. But it’s NOT OK when you decide to make profit from those illegal activities like this chick did. Which I agree with him. It’s fine to pirate for your own personal enjoyment. But it’s not alright for you to make a shit load of money by putting movies online on a streaming site that you don’t physically own the copyright to. That is grade a bullshit.

I don’t support the MAFIAA at all, but I draw the line there. Don’t sell shit that isn’t yours for a profit.

So to sum it up – the chick deserves exactly what he she got. Dumbass shouldn’t have made money off of other people’s work. Download it all you want, but don’t sell it to people. Or make money through advertisements.
