Nobody has ever been able to justify ICE’s actions with regards to their domain seizures. The only justification that could possibly be used would be “Copyrights are more important than people’s rights and the principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ “. And that is such a retarded excuse, nobody has ever dared to use it. Not even ICE, not even copyright shills like those patrolling this website and not even Youtube trolls.

Whether it’s those insane copyright and patent laws, the extreme power given to police and other bodies of government authority or just the hostile and violent behavior when it comes to international politics, the USA are quite… fascist.

100 years from now, we’ll think:
“Can you believe the ‘upgrade now’ button in software was actually patented and people even got sued for implementing it in their own software?”
“Can you believe a mother was tasered in front of her kids just because she got out of her car during a traffic stop?”
“Can you believe the government had the right to grope and molest people? Why didn’t they just ground planes if flying was so dangerous? How could that be worse than sexually assaulting people?”
“Can you believe the government made and got away with laws that directly violated the Constitution?”
“Can you believe 100,000 civilians were killed in Iraq by the war? If US troops had refused to go, this wouldn’t have happened. And can you believe 99% of American citizens actually supported their troops despite this massive civilian massacre?” (and that’s exactly what we think of when we think about WWII, how German soldiers agreed to fight and how nearly all German civilians supported the war)
Don’t forget “Can you believe the government almost entirely crippled the Internet at the request of a single industry?”

And of course: “Can you believe people didn’t seem to realize how bad it was and waited 50 years to stand up to their government?”

I commend Wyden and Lofgren for their engagement and asking very sensible and well considered answers.

I ask them to keep going on this, to keep pushing and summoning homeland security heads to Congress to ask these questions again and to push for an admission that ice were wrong and they won’t be allowed to get away with it. We all need to write letters to the editor asking why ice failed to answer and acted in a way that seem in conflict with the interest of the comunity and the people who pay the ice’s wages.

Whatever happened to the days when a law was presented and the ones to decide whether or not it right/wrong were the people themselves? They’re mixing things up by saying the people in the house, senate, political parties are the “people” and not looking at the public.

Do they truly consider themselves beyond reproach and above the law?

US Departments and their agencies are treading a VERY dangerous line here, and it wont augur well for the general public if they’re permitted to continue in this vein.  There are GENUINE concerns of fascism emerging in the political actions of the USA’s governmental bodies – and it MUST be stopped NOW.
