@beltsnspoons. oh….you mean like apple did with the ipad? as there was another guy manufacturing it for almost a year, went to apple for support and they stole it. or how the American army borrowed a “bushman” from the Australian army (armored jeep with remote controlled gun and able to withstand iud’s) on the premise that they will buy them, pulled it apart and copied it (badly at that)? is that what you mean, coz its what American government (to smaller governments) and corporations (do to the smaller guy every day. perhaps you should wake up and see the world as it really is?

If he didn’t do anything wrong why didn’t he just set up a tripod in the middle of the theater and record it that way? He might not be a criminal in the laws eyes…but he is a THIEF by all other definitions. Whether or not its a criminal offense is a different story.

With that said…the motion picture company should have taken him to court. The police and governments really need to respect the rights of citizens. The Canadians had no business turning him over to us.

The whole point is that what he was doing was not a crime in his jurisdiction. Surely you find it troubling that a corporate can get someone arrested and jailed when they are not breaking the law?
