hammers can kill people, cars can be used as hit and run tools, do we sue black and decker if someone hit someone with a hammer? do we outlaw hammers because they "could" be used to kill someone?

do we sue fords for making a car that could be used for a hit and run, do we now outlaw and make cars illegal just in-case someone uses one to run someone over.

Back on point jay walking can harm someone's life if they get hit by a car so that law is to protect someone from getting hurt

speed limit is their to stop someone getting hurt by losing control of their car.

how is anyone getting hurt by taking a copy of something, how is the people who make the media getting hurt by millions of people all around the world finding out they even exist to then maybe become fans or followers?

you and alec see everything just 1 slided why?

am i not making sense by saying it's completely free advertising for them content creators provided by their fans to help them reach people who never knew they existed?

if the people don't know the content existed in the first place they'd not have any fans lol

4 dickheads tried to steal my motorbike last Tuesday i'm so angry because they could of left me without my motobike.

but if they'd of taken a copy leaving my motobike alone who gets hurt?

they get a bike and i also get to keep mine too everyone's happy!

now i have to re-spray my car they smashed because they couldn't get the locks off

when 80% of the entire world are all doing the same thing daily for the last 15 years, doesn't that show copyright needs to be removed and thrown out? or at least revised?

Your logic fails, because left to their own accord, people will jay-walk and drive their cars to fast and not make stop signs... and yes, 85% of the people on the road do speed at one time or another. But the laws are there for reasons that don't always line up with our desire to zoom from one place to another. Further, except for rare cases, we all drive cars that are capable of far exceeding the speed limits.

The reason for the laws is a combination of safety, respect for others, and common longer term good.

The law isn't just a popularity contest, sometimes it's a bit of a bitch because it makes you do something that is good for you, even if you don't like it. Sometimes it makes you have to respect the rights of others, that you didn't like (stop sign, example).

You cannot have 100% democracy because it fails on so many levels. The majority would tell the minority what to do (sit in the back of the bus, example), and that just doesn't work out.
