Fox would serve heaping second helpings of any news figuring the words “war” and “vets” without any other reason, I think. :)

Doesn’t change that a smart operator would be able to get him/herself extra promotion and airtime just by exploiting useful idiots in the media.

Chomsky is a crackpot in many ways but he’s dead on where he states that conspiracies don’t exist – just vested interests all finding their bread buttered on the same side.

I might add that revelations of this kind is what prompted the swedish tax authorities to issue a separate set of account numbers. Any organizations stating a humanitarian purpose is regularly audited and if it passes that audit, allowed to use one such number. It’s voluntary but means the public knows at a glance on the donation recipient’s account whether they have been passed by the tax authority or not.

It’s a solution I’d advocate to any other country as well.
