Do you have a clue?? have you not culled the fiction from truth? the organizations behind SOPA pushed it in hope for there own gain regardless of how it would affect the whole internet as we all including you know it. That was a MONSTROUS deplorable attempt by the unscrupulous organizations and there lobbyists. And now they show there true pathetic objective, and so now they opt to "influence" others to cut of advertising on sites they deem to be there detriment, Where will that end? It may not matter to you but I am no bend over and take it sort.

Since I don't think stopping someone from doing something illegal is "censorship", I don't see the issue here.

Censorship is stopping an idea from being shared or discussed such that nobody can obtain it, hear it, or discuss it. Stopping someone from ripping a copy of a movie isn't censorship, the movie is still there and still available. you are still able to talk about the movie all you want. Nothing is censored.

<i>"Eventually they will have to accept what they can't stop as acceptable
losses, like most other businesses do. Just another cost of doing
business."</i>

Indeed. by that time it may be too late.

Imagine a store such as wal-mart which implements a policy to ensure no one double-parks to the detriment of other customers. Pays for parking guards. Make sense?

Imagine the same store hiring blackwater mercenaries with tow trucks to ensure anyone who double-parks is treated to having his/her car burned on site and who regularly accost customers inside the store at gunpoint, running them through third-degrees to ensure they haven't parked where they shouldn't.

Guess which "cost of doing business" just cost them the actual business?

Sony has such a bad rep I know entire tech companies which avoid any of their products like the plague simply because not one engineer is willing to come out in defense of Sony hardware or software.

Microsoft's pre-2010 business practices almost cost them the entire company and allowed alternative products, such as Linux and MacOS to take a substantial market share bite.

Yahoo's love of advertising and intrusive bloatware pushed on clients allowed two guys in a basement to eat the entire browser/admarket with a tool called "Google".

Bad business strangles itself. And the problem with much of the copyright cult is that they're priests, not businessmen...

Well I guess if someone as of high stature as he (LoL) has knee jerk reactions, he definitely should not be considered to have a valid opinion at all in any situation. Period.
Once censoring the internet starts where do you think it will end??

Yeah, not like he could have become better informed, come to understand both sides of the issues, and come to a conclusion that his previous knee jerk reaction of a position was wrong or anything...
