About Smaran

I was born in western India and have spent the last 19 years of my life travelling and dropping in and out of school. I have been learning to master the wonderful and confusing German language since late 2004 and am currently majoring in Germanistic at college. I am also fluent in Hindi and English (obviously). To be completely honest, it's an honour to write for TorrentFreak. I've been a reader of the site since it launched. A little bit about the OS I use: I'm a fan of Macintosh computers and OS X, as well as Ubuntu Linux. I have been following online filesharing since the days of Napster and Audiogalaxy. One thing that sets me apart from many is that even though I believe in the technology, I do not support the unauthorised distribution of copyrighted files. On the other hand, I applaud movements like Creative Commons and the Open Source Initiative. Drop me an e-mail if you'd like to talk.
